ArtPrescriptive LLC is headed by William Applegate, who is dedicated to providing his clients with sound advice for the enjoyment and purchase of art. Born in Cincinnati, William maintains close connections with the Midwest’s artistic circles. He has established himself professionally in New York, with experience at both Sotheby’s and Christie’s. Moreover, he helped launch MutualArt.com, as well as ArtNear, a mobile application

for handheld devices.

Spending time in Palm Beach, Martha’s Vineyard, and Beaver Creek, William has an acute understanding of collectors’ diverse needs and regional tastes. His academic background supplied the historical foundation and artistic vocabulary necessary to successfully navigate the sprawling art word: William holds a Master of Arts degree in modern and contemporary art, connoisseurship, and the art market from Christie’s Education, New York in addition to a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

William’s personal passion for fine art augments his extensive education and professional experience. His grandmother and uncle are both successful artists, and his family’s involvement in the cultural community fostered William’s discriminating aesthetic appreciation from a young age. William is an avid collector and connoisseur himself, and his enthusiasm and knowledge are valuable tools at the disposal of his clients, aiding them in developing or refining their own unique visions and collections.
